Biography

This will be an on-going chronology of the people and places in my life. Their presence brought more than just joy and laughter, They taught and introduced me to things, made me think, gave me encouragement, loved me, and ultimately shaped me into who I am today. So this is really a tribute to them and the influence they had on my life.

My mother gave birth to me when she was 18. Until I was about 5 we lived in a tiny 2 bedroom cottage behind my grandmother and grandfather’s house (my father’s parents) in Southern California, east of LA. 115 and a half Bright Street. A Hilton hotel now occupies the place where tree-lined Bright Street and the houses used to be.

The lot had a variety of mature trees: persimmon, pomegranate, orange, avocado, and my favorite fig, which was just outside my room.
